Charles Darwin BiographyCharles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England on February 12, 1907. He attended Christ's College in Cambridge to follow in his father's footsteps as a doctor. There, he met botany professor, John Stevens Henslow, who recommended him for a naturalist position aboard the HMS Beagle. Along with Captain Robert FitzRoy, Darwin was able to travel to places around the world, such as the Galapagos Islands.
